The Timing of the Antichrist Revealed?
The Jaffa Gate Decree
Dan 9:25 âSo you are to know and understand that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until Messiah the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks⊠(26) âThen after the sixty-two weeks, the Messiah will be cut off and have nothingâŠ[Jesus was crucified]
We know this was fulfilled with Jesusâ first coming. But was there another decree to rebuild the walls? Yes there was. What happens when we add the 483 years of Daniel 25 to that decree? Do we end up with when the Antichrist comes? Weâre going to explore that possibility!
Could we be wrapping it all up by the year 2029?
The key phrase in the prophecy that gives us a definitive starting place is in verse 25, âfrom the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem.â That is our starting place. Then add the 483 to get to the exact day Jesus began His ministry. But letâs look at the whole passage to see that not only did Jesus need to be cut off [be crucified] but He had to fulfill additional prophecies in the passage, some of which are not yet fulfilled so they will be fulfilled leading up to His Second Coming!
Dan 9:24-26 NASBÂ âSeventy weeks have been decreed for your people and your holy city, to:
- Â finish the wrongdoing, [fulfilled on the cross]
- to make an end of sin,[fulfilled on the cross]
- to make atonement for guilt, [fulfilled on the cross]
- to bring in everlasting righteousness, [not fulfilled on the cross]
- to seal up vision and prophecy, [not fulfilled on the cross]
- and to anoint the Most Holy. [not fulfilled on the cross]
This prophecy is for Jesus Christ, the true Messiah, to fulfill within the 490 years.Â
Daniel 9:25, 26 âSo you are to know and understand that from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until Messiah the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks; it will be built again, with streets and moat, even in times of distress.  âThen after the sixty-two weeks, the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.â
This could be a prophecy also of the other Messiah/Prince, the Antichrist, after 483 years! Verses 25, specifically ‘from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until Messiah the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks,’ is possibly a fulfillment of the first coming of Jesus and the Antichrist too. Both Jesus Christ and the antichrist are then prophesied have to come at the end of 483 years.Â
You may be saying, âMessiah the Princeâ is obviously a reference to Jesus Christ. This is true of course! Messiah means anointed one. Jesus Christ was the only One truly anointed by God when the Holy Spirit descended upon Him while in the river Jordan (John 1:32,33). However, humanity will anoint another man so that he too can be called messiah or anointed; he is the antichrist.Â
Dan 9:26 NASBÂ âThen after the sixty-two weeks, the Messiah will be cut off and have nothing, and the people of the prince who is to come will destroy the city and the sanctuary. And its end will come with a flood; even to the end there will be war; desolations are determined.
The antichrist is also called âthe prince who is to come.â He is the enemy of Godâs people for his people destroy the city of Jerusalem and will desecrate the sanctuary. He is anointed by man and a prince. He is the Son of Perdition; the man of sin.
Did you know King Charles was anointed with oil at his coronation? Is he not also called a âprinceâ which also just means ruler or commander? And so, that same thing will happen for the Antichrist so that he too could be called the anointed prince – but his anointing is from man and ultimately Satan.
We know of two instances in history in which the walls were commanded to be rebuilt. First by Artaxerxes in the year 457 BC. After the decree by Artaxerxes âadd 483 years (“from the issuing of a decree to restore and rebuild Jerusalem, until Messiah the Prince, there will be seven weeks and sixty-two weeks”). When you do, you land somewhere around the years 25AD/26AD when Jesus started His ministry whose coming perfectly fulfills the prophecy. The rest of verse 24 to yet be fulfilled which happens at His Second Coming; remember we are looking for His second coming to fulfill the last 3 points of vs. 24:
-
to bring in everlasting righteousness, [not fulfilled on the cross]
-
to seal up (make an end of) vision and prophecy, [not fulfilled on the cross]
-
and to anoint the Most Holy. [not fulfilled on the cross]
The second time the decree went out to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem was by Sulieman the Great, a Turkish Muslim. The Church does not know about this decree. He rebuilt the walls of Jerusalem again in 1539 according to the inscription on the Jaffa Gate in Old City Jerusalem. From Sulieman the Great’s edict to rebuild the walls of Jerusalem in 1539 to 2022 is 483 years ⊠again! Making 2022 to 2029 possibly the time of the antichrist’s confirming of the covenant by the second decree.Â
So yes, it is possible right now is the time of the Antichrist’s beginning reign of power. It is the time he begins confirming or strengthening the covenant with many for 7 years. But no one will know he is the antichrist; he could be doing this privately, or through proxies, or out in the open but no one knows heâs the antichrist just as it say in Scripture:
2Th 2:3-4 NAS95 Let no one in any way deceive you, for it [the Coming of the Lord] will not come unless the apostasy comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, (4) who opposes and exalts himself above every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, displaying himself as being God.
I believe he will not be revealed to the Church until close to the very end of the 7 years!
That calculation, of 1539 + 483 years, is based on regular years of the Gregorian calendar. But if you do the same calculation using the “360 day prophetic calendar,” as some call it, from 1539, you arrive at the date September 2015. That was when Agenda 2030 was pushed onto the world scene which I believe is likely the “covenant with many” or the antichrist’s covenant.
This second decree seems to tell us of the coming of the antichrist and his covenant with many. So does that mean he is here now confirming a covenant? Possibly. He obviously is not known as the antichrist yet but he could be confirming the covenant and the Church is unaware because they think the covenant is a 7 year peace deal with Israel. However, the Bible doesnât say that specifically. It only says it is a covenant that he strengthens for 7 years with the many.Â
